St. Gerard had two separate needs; one was a new Parish Office that was more centralized on their campus and provided easier access to their patrons. The second was a renovation to their existing nave to construct a much desired gathering space for the church.
The new Parish office was designed within the existing school building. This provided ease of access with surrounding parking and direct entry from the exterior. Backlit stain glass windows were repurposed to enhance the lobby and a cozy reception area was designed for the welcoming feel that the Parish sought.
The existing stairs leading to the exterior of the nave in the Church were removed and filled in so that the new gathering space could provide a large open area. A fresh, modern, accessible restroom and hand crafted millwork completed the renovated space.
