Fair Haven is the Shelby County Home that was originally designed by Freytag & Associates in the 1970s. This new addition added 76 beds to the facility, including four double rooms and a number of mobility/isolation rooms. Several of the resident rooms are situated with direct access to the courtyards allowing residents to enjoy the outdoors in a secure space.
The owner sought a modern farmhouse aesthetic for the new building along with a spiritually pleasing environment. Special attention was given to the materials and furnishings used in the building. Spacious dining and activity spaces, an enclosed porch, a spa and three custom nurse’s stations give this addition a home away from home atmosphere for the residents.
