In 2009, Bellefontaine City Schools selected Freytag & Associates, Inc. for the design of two new buildings serving grades K-2 and grades 6-8. The elementary school houses grades K-2 and is a two-story 82,095 s.f. building. This building contains 10 classrooms for each grade level, 6 special education spaces, computer lab, a library media center, an art room, a general music room, an instrumental music room and a gymnasium. The structure features Extended Learning Areas (ELA) shared by the classrooms in each academic wing, which adjoin an integrated outdoor natural learning space that provides natural light to the ELAs. The facility is being built as LEED Silver Certified Projects.  The Bellefontaine City School District project was completed in 2013.
